We all know (and love) the grand old story of some kid forgetting their homework… and then forgetting all the good excuses, so lamely they blame it on the dogs … I’ve not required this excuse in many years, firstly I do my homework (I do shhh) and besides, I finished school in the early 2000’s. Oh and nowadays with everything submitted online you should have a back up anyway. (I’ve just started to use office 360 with its fancy one drive! I can get my documents from anywhere what!? :O)
Hey at least the excuse is plausible for me, firstly because I love writing things down on paper (or in a journal) and secondly I do happen to have a dog, in fact, I have 2 beautiful Dogs!
The Boys
The Twins
Fred and George, I know, I know those names might sound familiar to those of you whom are Harry Potter fans, but no they weren’t named after the Wesley twins; it is kind of cool to notice the similarities; people do think they are twins, and they are fun to be around, oh boy, do they like to live dangerously, not to mention; they are nearly inseparable, you’ll never see one without the other. But that is where the similarities end because both are small and fluffy and white and dogs whom to the best of my knowledge have never been to Hogwarts.
Not twins though, as much as they are brothers by adoption they are in fact different breeds of dog, George is a Lhasa Apso a non-sporting breed originating in Tibet (also known as a Tibetan temple dog) crossed with a Maltese and Freddy is a toy Schnoodle
They did have an uncle of sorts, our beloved family dog was also small and fluffy and white! But if you think Freddy and George are small wait till you see them alongside dad’s Dog Max
Max
Max was so small he fit in a pocket and was known to sleep through all sorts of meetings and formal dinners that any other dog would have no chance of attending.
Unfortunately a while ago Max was put to sleep he was very old nearly 20! And for a tiny Maltese that is very old indeed and he had a few health problems along with being almost completely blind and deaf, luckily he knew our house very well and could happily trot along knowing where all the doorways and chairs were, and he had a dotting pair of parents (my very own parents I can vouch that they are quite amazing at the task) to look after him and cuddle.
My dad was generous enough to give Freddy and George, Max’s old food including some very special treats called Smackos just mention Smackos near a food-motivated dog and you can get them to do almost anything!
Smackos
But this leads us to the death of my favorite item of clothing in the entire world my uA hoodie not only comfortable and stylish but also a reminder and a pledge of allegiance to my best peeps my uA brothers and sisters! And as a side benefit a massive shout of nerdage to other Gamers!
I happened to be wearing a said hoodie at my parents place on the weekend and they have a most convenient pocket right at the front perfect for keeping your hands warm on these barmy spring days yes it was -2 in the hills but yay spring!
Anywho I put the treats in my handy hand pocket and promptly forgot about them
Freddy and George
However, Freddy and/or George did not forget!
And the next day one or the other of them or possibly both had chewed into that pocket and eaten their tempting smackos!
The aftermath
The Moral
The Moral of the story is: pretty please with sugar on top Hey Grunter can we get new hoodies?
