    Yaaay book nerds unite!

I tend to collect a lot of my fave authors but there's also some one offs.

    Biography:
Working Stiff - Dr Judy Melinek and T.J Mitchel

Personally I hate bios but this one sounded interesting and really really was. Dr Melinek details her first two years as a medical examiner in New York including when the twin towers went down. It can be a bit graphic but I really loved it.

    Sci-fi:
The Windup Girl - Paolo Bacigalupi
A story set in the future where the world has suffered from global warming and rising seas. Based in Asia it's heavy on gene technology, plant biotechnology and lady boys. Heavy but a good read.

    Fantasy:
    Anything by Tolkein.
Song of Dragons and Dragonlore - Daniel Arenson (Were-dragons! Both series based in the same world in different time periods, quite good)
Mageri Series - Dannika Dark (girly fantasy that gets a bit too into the sexy scenes at times but has interesting concepts)
    Anything by George RR Martin
    Jennifer Fallon
    Kim Stanley Robinson
    Robin Hobb
    Garth Nix
    Terry Brooks

I am currently working my way through this list, a mix of books I've read and loved already as well as the ones I have yet to read or which have been recommended to me by friends :emoji_slight_smile:

Not sure if you're keeping that in a Word doc or something Aadra, but I've found Good Reads is a great site to keep track of what you've read as well as have a list of books "to read" which you can order how you like.

Here is my profile as an example:

I just finished reading The Victorian Internet by Tom Standage. It's a book about the technical and social development of the telegraph and how it parallels communication that has continued into the internet age. Would recommend, a great short read.

Oh boy, I only just saw this post.

I think Elantris is probably my favourite Sanderson book now, despite loving the Mistborn trilogy so much. I had no idea he was intending to expand on it!

(I'm guessing this is a pretty old post now)

If you haven't read The Emporer's Soul novella, that also takes place in the same world, though at a different location.

I picked up Shadows of Self and The Bands of Mourning. They've been added to my pile of about 10 books waiting to be read :p 1.5 books off finishing the Sword of Truth...
